Every year on Labor Day in Brooklyn about 3 million people ram the 20 mile Eastern Parkway to celebrate the West Indian Parade. I know you’re thinking, ‘Well, this ain’t no different from the Notting Hill carnival, blud’. WRONG. This is America. You give me an inch, I’ll give you a mile. There’s a reason this is the largest carnival in North America. The parade itself has been running for the past 40 years, I think, I don’t know (whatever), but this was my first year attending, it felt special. I had high expectations, and goddamnit they were all met.
