This is the photography of Igor Okunew, born in 1989 in Ukraine. He only uses film cameras and believes that “the image is not made by the camera but by the photographer”. Igor is simply documenting his life and the newly emancipated youth. His images almost have a post-apocalyptic look, but I find the vast silence in them is always undermined by the placement of one single figure or action. For those who think black & white photography rates as high as a Ryvita on the scale of interestingness I hope this changes your mind - this be the real deal folks.
