A week this Sunday, Sexbeat and This Is Music will be staging the second RADFEST at Corsica Studios. To mark what is clearly going to be a great day, we’ve asked the guys to compile a mixtape of dead rockstars that, if still alive, they’d like to see play.

Laura Wolf of Internet Forever has put out a Cerebral Ballzy cassette. To celebrate this she made Platform a paranormal mixtape because she loves UFOs and the X-Files. The truth is out there etc. etc.

If you cut Gavin McInnes he bleeds punk… and blood… but mostly punk. When he was growing up punk was his religion and dank beer-soaked bars were his church. These days he’s pretty knowledgeable on the subject and he want’s to convert as many punk-skeptics as possible. To do this he’s created, in his own words, “the greatest punk mixtape of all time”.

Compiled by Brooklyn-based label of the moment Captured Tracks, Mixtape XI is an actual C-60 mixtape (kind of), split over an A and a B side, with the requisite artwork provided too. Authentic or what!

Four songs each on the theme of love – that was the brief we set the Platform team. Typically, they came back with very different responses; some sensual (Adele), some sweet (Mark), some sexually aggressive (Lewis), but all great.

We asked mysterious Parisian duo Acid Washed to contribute to our mix series. They came back with this cosmic disco odyssey called ‘Primal Landscape’.

The folks from Throats got high and made a mixtape for us.
