The Reverend Frost is a musician from the south of France who runs a fantastic blog called Spread The Good Word! where he uploads rhythm and blues, schlocky rock and roll and old jazz singers and most importantly his own mixes - peppered with samples from really cool films. We asked him to make us a mix themed around youth, and he sent us one over called A Bloody Teenage Werewolf Mix, which you can download further down.

As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve even asked him a few questions about music and mixtapes in general.

What is your favourite mix/compilation of all time?

Without any doubt, the volumes of ‘Wavy Gravy’, it contains everything for me, twas like opening the door of dark secrets, a fantastic world.

What was the first and last record you bought?

First record - asked my dad to buy ‘the guys with the hats’ and ‘the scary music’ when I was three, he understood well, he bought ‘One night to Cairo’ by Madness and ‘The Man with a harmonica ‘ by Ennio Morricone. As a teenager, ‘Off the Bone’ by The Cramps! The last record I bought was Richie Allen - Durango from 1963, see I’m a modern guy.

What would you do different if you were a teenager again?

Nothing different really, I always wanted to be older, with a beard and a deep voice you know. I got it now. But I was 17, it was a good year.

What did your parents listen to in the car?

Always good stuff, 70′s rock, blues, cuban music, but hey, I started to do mixtapes when I was 7 or 8, so I’ve been the car-music-dj-master ever since.
