If you believe what you read in The Guardian, the traditional cinematic experience is dying. Odeons across the country are gathering dust, people are downloading the latest releases illegally from The Twitter rather than paying for cinema tickets and the $400,000,000 that Inception has made in three weeks at the global box office is merely the result of an elaborate money laundering operation set up by Christopher Nolan to up his street cred.

Charlie Lyne relives his gaming childhood by firing up his old Game Boy Colour and stepping back into the pixelated world of Pokémon. Now he’s gotta catch ‘em all over again.

For the past two and a half years Charlie Lyne has been living in Putney, South West London. He’s pretty keen on the place and has devised this 2.5 hour walking tour taking in all the areas major sights including the secondary school Hot Chip attended, the place where Marc Bolan died and, of course, Nandos.

The “you’re a crap film critic” card is a brave one to play if you yourself are a film reviewer. Luckily, Charlie Lyne of Ultra Culture avoids any hypocrisy by being awesome. Here is his list of ten film critics who ain’t no good.

October is dull. Nothing happens in October. The novelty of a new school/college/university has worn off by now and you’re left with nothing to look forward to except the new series of Peep Show and the remaining few weeks of sunlight before the clocks go back on the 25th. Luckily for you, I’ve devised five thrilling experiments guaranteed to pass the time.

You may or may not be familiar with Adult Swim. It’s a late-night cable channel that runs from about midnight to five a.m. and shows stuff like Perfect Hair Forever, Metalocalypse and Sealab 2021. You know, all your favourite shows.

While everyone else is off doing their own washing and cooking their own meals at University, I’ve just started an art foundation course and I’m still living at home. Brilliant.
