Scousers Are Gay (For Football)

In general I dislike generalisations*, but after watching this video it is impossible to deny that all scousers actually are aggressive, sanctimonious, angry, xenophobic, ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, simpletons who take their football far too seriously.

These guys really need to calm down, calm down. If you have no idea what all this fuss is about, this compilation of YouTube fury was unleashed as a protest against Liverpool F.C.’s now former owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillette, who since arriving in 2007 have left a string of broken promises and massive debts in the wake.

But what’s the big deal there? ‘Football club does less well than previously expected’ isn’t really an attention grabbing headline. Well you must remember that this is Liverpool, a city where the people take their football pretty seriously. For example, when Ian Mcculloch - the ex-front man of Echo And The Bunnymen - was asked for his measured response to the situation he said, “imagine if your family - which is what Liverpool football club is to the real fans who go - it’s like you’re raping all of ‘em… at once… over a long period of time and getting away with it”.

He said this sincerely without a hint of irony as Jeff from Peep Show stood silently by his side, an involuntary smile breaking out on his scouse face. This is the mentality we’re dealing with here.

*This is joke. If you’ve not noticed this website is quite tongue in cheek.

So essentially what you’re saying is that because there is a huge football following in the city and people are getting riled about the fact their club is being driven into the ground, they’re a bunch of “aggressive, sanctimonious, angry, xenophobic, ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, simpletons who take their football far too seriously”? I should assume you’re just trying to provoke some kind of reaction? In my opinion this is a very positive thing. People with some semblance of pride are actually being pro-active about the destruction of something they take a lot of pride in, and you’re sitting with your fucking stupid haircut and ironic t-shirts taking the piss. As a great man once said, Go eat a hot bowl of dicks.
