My earliest memory of Michael Jackson is the framed poster my sister had of him in her bedroom. It was that one where he had the pale yellow sweater vest on and the gheri curl. Everyone had that poster. I remember asking my sister, “Do you think Michael Jackson is cute?” And she was all “DUH!”
It’s funny to remember him that way. Michael Jackson (RIP) was known as a weirdo, a molester, a man child, the best songwriter ever. But never a hottie. That’s not what any of us thought.
My favorite memory of Michael Jackson is different. My favorite memory is singing “Man In The Mirror” with Ben and Merks at the Hudley’s house and laughing and freaking out and maybe everyone started singing along. I can’t really remember if that part actually happened or not but let’s just say it did.
