The old saying goes that “it’s grim up North”, well at first listen the macabre sound of Lord Auch makes me think these Leeds lads have brought some of that gloom down to London with them.
But that’s no bad thing. Drawing comparisons with Nick Cave and Johnny Cash is a great compliment to any band, and these guys deserve it. They also have pedigree as Simon McCabe and Danny Prescott were members of art-rock favourites Black Wire who split back in 2006.
Their new EP, To The Shithouse, comes after the band have taken on two new members to broaden their sound. It will be released on limited edition 12″ vinyl/download on Young and Lost Club and will be followed by a short film, written and directed by the band’s own Si McCabe.
