LESLEY ARFIN

Jonny Makeup is one of my daily inspirations. He works for American Apparel and lives at Dov Charney’s house, in fact, he calls Dov his “Daddy.” (It sort of reminds me of that scene in Boogie Nights where that little Chinese boy is lighting firecrackers with that old dude who’s listening to”Sister Christian.”) I love Jonny. We trade advice, he lifts my spirits, and we’re even kinda-sorta in a band together with Peaches. The only weird thing is that Jonny and I have never actually met in person.

I guess it’s not that big a deal considering what a crazy, mixed-up, futuristic world this is. Jonny and I ichat, we BBM on our Blackberry’s, and we google image each other. We’ve just never hugged, shaken hands, broken bread, or partied together. Is that weird?

Jonny is like, basically super famous just for being awesome. He used to be in this band called VIP Party Boys and they killed. His band member’s name was Bear and he went to rehab. He was also in this amazing Cazwell video (“I Seen Beyonce At Burger King). Now he just jet sets around the world in Jeremy Scott outfits and hangs out with really famous people. I don’t think he befriends people by being star fuckery, I think famous people befriend HIM because he’s got so much dazzle!

Anyway, Jonny writes a column for Street Carnage and probably hits up a few more webby things. You can follow him here on twitter. I highly recommend involving him into your circle of life. Every time I talk to him I suddenly feel like throwing on my dance belt and pot-a-bourree’ing out the door in something like this:
