Female photographers from San Francisco are like buses; you wait ages for one and then two come along at once, and they accept Oyster.

Frisco resident Andrea Sonnenberg (also known as Teen Witch) has been someone I’ve been keeping an eye on for some time now. This nocturnal enchantress takes photos of her friends partying, tagging stuff, setting fire to trees and just generally enjoying life.

I had a look at five of her photos and asked her what the story was behind them.

1. This picture was taken last week. There’s a parking lot behind this gas station and it’s got this really wild mural behind it. I love taking group timer pictures and this one seemed pretty appropriate. We were smashed.

2. This was on the same day a couple hours earlier. A bunch of us stopped to get beer on our way to mile rock beach in S.F. Probably the most amazing coincidence, my friends know me as TEEN WITCH so I absolutely had to get a flick of this. This picture was cross processed.

3. Sometime in the middle of the night we burned a bunch of trees near my house. This random runner was passing by and didn’t stop or even look at us. We were jumping around and screaming.

4. A while back I took this road trip with my girlfriends to San Diego to go to this show that a guy I had a crush on was playing. Bad call. “Vegan straight edge” isn’t my lifestyle so when we got to this house party I was pretty surprised. I was expecting a rager. The parents and kids who owned the house were in the living room while there was a show in the kitchen. It was a NICE house so it was super awkward when it stared getting trashed. We had to smuggle in our beers, which we chugged in the bathroom, and I saw this kid as I was leaving and asked if I could take his picture. He said “blog about it on your MySpace”. Yeah, sure bro! The party ended up being kinda fun.

5. Just some good ol’ late night tunnel graffiti boosting.

Love you, bye. x
