Michael Laurence – best known by his sobriquet, DJ Ironik – has a new single out featuring Elton John. We say featuring, Ironik and Elton have never actually met. Ironik just nicked a sample from that Almost Famous song and got Chipmunk to rap over it. Oh the modern world. We got him to do a poem using the letters of his name.

R stands for Ruddy good DJ
O stands for Orange, I like oranges, they’re my favourite fruit.
N would stand for Nice, because my music is nice.
I again, still Intense
K stands for King of Hip Pop. That’s the new thing, Hip Pop.

What do you usually dream about?
I don’t usually have dreams.

I’m sure you do.
I’ve had the dream where you fall off a cliff. Apparently, if you hit the ground before you wake up, you die in real life. I’ve always woken up before I hit the ground.

Phew. What’s more important: DJ Ironik the man, or DJ Ironik the music?
Definitely the music.
